Glimcher’s West Virginia Plazas Thrive in Tough Economy

Glimcher Group is proud to announce our continued success in the West Virginia market as both Bridgeport Plaza and By-Pass Plaza are now 100% leased and Planet Fitness will be opening a new 25,000 ft² location at Gihon Village Shopping Center.

Bridgeport Plaza

Bridgeport, WV – Edible Arrangements and The Flower Shop have joined this fully populated shopping center in Bridgeport, WV. This will be Edible Arrangements first location in the area, while The Flower Shop is relocating from nearby Clarksburg, WV.

Bridgeport Plaza, which was at one time close to being 50% vacant, has been redefined by the addition of a 33,000 ft² Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, a newly renovated 15,000 ft² Goodwill Distribution Center, and an 8,320 ft² Anytime Fitness. Furthermore, smaller tenants such as Hank’s Deli and Razor’s Hometown Clips have added diversity and strengthened the tenant mixture.

Leasing Associate, Jordan Gustine attributes the progress to the center’s excellent location along Interstate 79 and recent improvements at the shopping center; including renovating the pylon sign, updating the exterior fascade, and repaving the parking field.

Other tenants at Bridgeport Plaza include Home Depot, Family Dollar, Sherwin Williams, and Aaron’s Rentals.

By-Pass Plaza

Beckley, WV – By-Pass Plaza welcomes Sportsmans Liquidation Outlet as they will soon open the doors to their new outlet store. The 8,580 ft² end-cap space had been the only vacancy at the busy shopping center in Beckley, WV.

Sportsmans Liquidation Outlet, which describes itself as a non-traditional retailer, specializes in providing in a wide variety of quality equipment for hunters, fishermen, and outdoors enthusiasts. The By-Pass Plaza outlet store will be the outfitter’s first loctation in the West Virginia market and their fifteenth store to open nationwide.

Gihon Village Shopping Center

Parkersburg, WV – Glimcher Group is pleased to announce the national fitness chain, Planet Fitness, will be opening its first location in the state of West Virginia at Gihon Village Shopping Center in 2011.

The innovative health club has signed a lease to take the 25,000 ft² space between Foodland and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. They will be a great addition to the tenant mix and bring a steady flow of new customers to the shopping center.
